Member Organizations

Member Organizations are institutions around the globe that have agreed to support and promote the goals of CBOL and have pledged to invest resources in DNA barcoding activities. Membership in CBOL is open to any organization involved in biodiversity or biotechnology; the only requirement is to make their barcode data records available to the public.

Since the May 2004 inaugural meeting, over 200 organizations from 50 countries and 6 continents have joined the Consortium for the Barcode of Life so that they can be directly involved in the DNA Barcode Iniative. See their distribution on this map.
